84% of scald burns occur in the home. To prevent scalds, be careful in the kitchen by cooking on back burners and turning handles in. When transferring hot food and drinks, use pot holders.
Every family should develop and practice a fire escape plan. Make sure you have a family meeting place outside your home and everyone knows it!
Each sleeping area of your home should have a smoke alarm. Ask your parents to test your alarms monthly to keep you home fire safe.
